PEFINDO OFFICIALLY BECOMES GREEN BOND EXTERNAL REVIEW PROVIDER

Jakarta, February 2025 - PT Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia (PEFINDO) announced the launch of its services as a Green Bond Verifier (GBV) External Review Provider, strengthening its position as a rating agency that is committed to supporting the development of sustainable finance in Indonesia.

The presence of this GBV service is a response to the rapid growth of the global and regional green bond market. It is in line with Indonesia's commitment to achieving sustainable development targets. This phenomenon is characterized by the increasing awareness of investors and issuers of the importance of environmentally friendly financial instruments.

Prior to launching this service, PEFINDO obtained approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to carry out other business activities as an External Review Provider. In addition, PEFINDO has also obtained recognition in the form of certification from the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI), an international organization that has become a global reference in green bond standards, as a CBI-approved verifier. This recognition confirms PEFINDO's competence in conducting verification according to international standards and makes it a trusted partner for prospective issuers.

PEFINDO has partnered strategically with Indonesia Environmental and Social Advisory (IESA).

In this collaboration, PEFINDO acts as a verifier that assesses the suitability of the green bond framework with the established standards or taxonomy, while IESA provides technical assistance to PEFINDO's verification process.
